Aaliyah Utti is a community consultant for the State Economic Support Policies Study. She works as a child welfare case manager in Georgia, where she supports children and families involved with foster care and protective services. Aaliyah’s research focuses on the neurodevelopmental impacts of trauma in children in the child welfare system. She is currently conducting a scoping review to map evidence across neuroscience, social work, and child psychology, with the goal of identifying gaps in trauma-informed care.
Outside of her public service role, Aaliyah is building a grant writing business and currently subcontracts with grant writing firms to help nonprofits secure funding for community-based and family support programs. She plans to expand this work into full-time entrepreneurship.
Aaliyah is deeply committed to bridging research, policy, and frontline practice. Her long-term goals include pursuing graduate study in social work and public health to drive systemic change and improve outcomes for vulnerable families.
