Joyce Ndungu MSW

My name is Joyce Ndungu MSW, and I’m beyond excited to be part of this incredible lab team! I have a background in Social Work and am currently a Doctoral student in the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia. My work focuses on how policies intersect with real lives, especially among vulnerable populations. I have contributed to various projects in Child Maltreatment risk reporting before and after COVID, Impact of Recreational Cannabis Legalization on Cannabis Use Disorder, Opioid prescribing practices amongst healthcare students, Prep Uptake amongst women, and now, with this lab, I’m supporting research on Child Maltreatment and Financial Assistance Programs. Every project is a chance to push for change where it matters most.

If you had to give your life a movie soundtrack which song, would you pick?

If my life had a movie soundtrack, it would be “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell because no challenge is too great when purpose, compassion and vision leads the way.
